About Us

We’re a large, blended family who finds joy in the simple things. That’s where the name Barebones comes from — we believe in stripping life down to its essentials and rebuilding it the way it was meant to be. Living within our means, embracing simplicity, and working toward self-sufficiency are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re not doomsday preppers, but we do strive to be as self-sufficient as possible — our goal is to reach 90%. It’s a journey that takes time, dedication, and a lot of hard work. At Barebones Farm, we constantly evaluate what works and what doesn’t, always going back to the basics to find the most honest way forward.

All ten of us who live here are stewards of the land and caretakers of the animals. Every creature on our farm is loved and thoughtfully tended to. In fact, our animals are often our greatest teachers — patient, intuitive, and wise in their own ways. We’re also in the process of growing a large garden that we hope will soon feed our family. By next year, we dream of seeing it in full bloom.

We aim to live in harmony with nature. That means choosing natural solutions whenever possible, while also acknowledging that there are times when medical intervention is necessary — for both us and our animals. When it comes to their care, we never medicate unless it’s needed, but we never withhold help either. Our animals deserve the best life we can give them, and that’s a commitment we take seriously.

At Barebones Farm, we’re building a life rooted in simplicity, balance, and deep respect — for the land, for the animals, and for each other.
